1974-2024

It is with great regret and sadness that we inform you of the passing of Steve Jones. Steve passed away in a tragic accident on Sunday August 4th, 2024, at the age of 49.

He will be forever missed by his wife and best friend, Cindy and his daughter, Charlie age 17. He is survived by his mother and several siblings, cousins, and friends.
Steve joined Metric Contracting in 1999 as Dump Truck Driver and has worked with Metric for over 23 years, he was a well known name and friend and was respected by his colleagues and peers.
His passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew Steve. Steve will be greatly missed but we will carry with us his life lessons to keep the memory of him alive.

A private funeral service will take place.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 3:00 pm Fiddler’s Green 5965 Old Highway 2, Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, On. K0K 1X0

Some photos of the Jellyfish filtration system we installed for the proposed Hamilton Bus Facility. We worked with Cooper Rentals, who supplied the slide rail system that spanned roughly 45 ft by 25 ft at a 5 meter depth and our crew installed it in 2 days in poor ground conditions. And our friends over at Haggart crane did a great job hoisting as always!

And to move this material, we have over 30 pieces of heavy equipment on-site including a Hitachi 670, seven CAT 740’s, a few 40T shovels, and much more. Stay tuned for more progress pics!

A sneak peak into our earth-moving operation at North Maple Regional Park! This Design-Build project for City of Vaughan will see the transformation of a former waste management facility into a world-class park. With over 30 pieces of heavy equipment ranging from Hitachi 670’s, to Linkbelt 490’s, John Deere 850s and Komatsu D65’s, we will be moving 400,000 m3 of dirt! Stay tuned for more photos!
