Soft water is NOT pure water.

Installing a water softener is a vital first step for your boiler system, but assuming softened water is fully treated is risky. While softeners successfully exchange calcium and magnesium for sodium, they leave behind elements like dissolved oxygen, alkalinity, and silica.

Left unchecked, these remaining elements can cause aggressive localized pitting and hard silicate scale, severely damaging your equipment over time.
