Case Study: Hervana
Services: Design + Build + Manage
Project Scope: Design and Build a workplace for women with different backgrounds, fields, and goals to come together in a community environment.
Challenge: Plan, Design and Build a communal workspace for members with wholly unrelated activities to create and collaborate in, and in addition to being multi-functional, the space needed to emit an atmosphere synonymous with Hervana’s mission of being a place of purpose and community to elevate women.
Solution: We opted for an open concept to create a setting that would encourage its women-only members to share ideas and make connections, while also offering private areas dedicated to concentrated deep work. Space planning was exceptionally imperative in this project to ensure private, open, and meeting zones were well balanced and multi-functional throughout the 2,000 square foot space.
Guided by Hervana’s mission statement and branding, we incorporated a fun and feminine colour pallet and to add visual interest and a layer of texture, the flooring was installed in a herringbone pattern. The materials and finishes were kept light and elegant to balance the strong furniture and to act as a refined blank canvas for the women utilizing Hervana to make the space their own.
Result: We worked closely with Hervana to bring the vision from rudimentary concept to complete design build solution. Today we continue to maintain the property as needed.
