In one month, we'll gather at Ranchman's for our annual Country for Critters event, where we'll announce the winners of the Great Pawmobile Giveaway!

Sponsor Energy purchased three brand-new 2026 Jeep Compasses, wrapped them in glorious Sponsor pink, and we're giving them away to three deserving animal rescues.

But here's what makes this campaign truly special:

💗 While three rescues will drive away in brand-new Pawmobiles, every dollar donated will be shared among all 57 nominated rescues helping animals across Alberta.

And the event itself will be a blast!

Last year's Country for Critters raised more than $130,000 for Alberta animal rescues + featured great local artists and a surprise show by Midland. This year will be even better!

One beautiful (and very shy) gal caught our eye today during our visit to Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society today…

A great horned owl whose feathers had been completely burned off, likely from flying through a fire or landing on a high voltage power line.

She survived. But now she will spend some time at Calgary Wildlife while her feathers slowly grow back. Poor baby.

We know this donation cheque will help injured and orphaned wildlife like this get a second chance and we are so proud of what this organization does (they actually helped us last year with an injured skunk outside our office).

And it really drove home for us that wildlife rehab is not just “nature stuff.” It’s people showing up every day to help animals through absolutely brutal situations most of us never even hear about.

And in some exciting news…
Calgary Wildlife is also one of the 10 finalists for a Sponsor Energy “Pawmobile”!!
As you may have heard, Sponsor Energy purchased 3 brand new vehicles that will be donated to animal rescue organizations, and Calgary Wildlife is officially in the running.

After seeing the work happening inside their facility today, we can tell you they’d put one to very good use!!

What if someone you loved was still alive, but slowly disappearing in front of you?

Your son.

Your dad.

Your best friend.

Alberta is facing an addiction crisis that is devastating families across our province. And while recovery is possible, the road back is one of the hardest battles a person can fight.

That is why we were so touched to deliver donation cheques to two incredible organizations this week: Fresh Start Recovery and Simon House Recovery Centre .

The stories we heard, of people’s darkest moments and the hope & healing they found through these recovery programs truly saved thier lives.

Recovery is not easy. But neither is giving up on people.

Let’s not forget about them.

And to everyone fighting their way through addiction right now: your story is not over. Organizations like these, and the people who care, can become part of your healing journey. 💙

Do animals have a soul?

Spend five minutes with a rescue dog and it starts to feel like less of a question.

Today, our team at Sponsor Energy set out to a rescue that is dear to our hearts... Pups with Soul Rescue. We dropped off our donation cheque this morning & got some quality time with the cuties in their care and the amazing human that runs it all - Christina Thomas!

There’s something profound about the way dogs trust again after hardship. The way they lean into kindness (no matter what they have been through). The way they remind us that healing, loyalty, and joy don’t need words.

And for anyone still wondering whether animals have souls… we’re pretty sure those wagging tails answered that already....

As for Christina… her soul is pure gold. 🐾💛

The power of ❤️ is real. So is the power of a wagging tail...

We witnessed the power firsthand today as we walked in with our big pink donation cheque for the Calgary Humane Society.

We were welcomed by their entire team of staff (furry and otherwise) and got to hear all about the work they do for vulnerable animals in our community and especially how animals impact mental health and bring such love to people who need it.

(Confession: good thing they didn’t make us sign a non-solicitation agreement… because we MAY have tried recruiting several dogs into the Sponsor Energy call centre.
Early interviews went extremely well.
Treat compensation expectations were high. 🦴)

Lend a paw folks and support the Calgary Humane Society. They’re doing amazing work.

Last night’s Black Dog Gala with Pups with Soul Rescue was SUCH FUN!!! 🖤🐾

This incredible event shines a light on a real challenge in shelters -black dogs are often the last to be adopted. But last night? They were the stars of the show!

We were proud to be the Swag Bag Sponsor again and even prouder to support the cause!

Huge thanks to Pups with Soul Rescue for giving every dog the love and second chance they deserve - and for hosting such a meaningful (and fun!) evening.

And Christina Thomas? WOW! You are a force of nature! Your dedication and the tremendous work that you put into this event... is amazing! Black dogs everywhere bow to you!
