Congratulations to our Tourmaline student teams for an outstanding showing at this year's Bitumen Bowl, hosted by Young Canadians for Resources (YCR)!

Competing against students from companies across Calgary, our teams rose to the challenge, with one team earning the Executive's Choice Award and another receiving the Students Choice Award in YCR's annual policy case competition.

This year's competition challenged participants to negotiate complex Canadian energy and public policy issues through a live stakeholder simulation, testing their critical thinking, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills in front of industry leaders.

We're proud to see our students represent Tourmaline with such professionalism, teamwork, and excellence. Congratulations to everyone involved on this well-deserved achievement!

Tourmaline was honored to be a sponsor for the 2026 gathering in Halifax. This year, we were proud to support 18 Indigenous youth from our operating areas in attending the event. We were thrilled to connect with hundreds of Indigenous students from across Canada and discuss the many exciting career paths in the energy industry.

This recognition highlights workplace campaigns that demonstrate outstanding commitment, innovation, and community impact. We were specifically recognized for our growth in employee giving and our 16-year history of supporting UW, and annual contributions to Planet Youth.

Our thoughts are with the community of Tumbler Ridge during this heartbreaking time.

The Peace Region is deeply interconnected, and events like this are felt far beyond one community. As neighbours, we recognize how closely our communities are woven together and how many are carrying the weight of yesterday's tragedy.

We extend our compassion to all those impacted and encourage everyone to take care of one another — to check in on neighbours, friends, and colleagues, and to lean on community in the days ahead.

On November 20, Tourmaline joined teams from across Calgary for the annual Hockey Helps the Homeless tournament. Our staff brought outstanding energy on the ice and behind the scenes, volunteering their time and helping raise more than $23,000 in support of the cause.

This year’s tournament generated over $429,800 in total, providing meaningful support to YWCA Calgary Inn from the Cold, Trellis Society, and Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta.

We’re grateful to everyone who played, volunteered, and donated. We look forward to being part of this inspiring event again next year.
