An experienced construction Executive and leader, David will succeed Wayne Benz. Wayne Benz has retired after 37 years of dedicated excellence and leaves the organization with a strong history and a bright future. With over 30 years of industry experience, most recently as President and CEO of Stuart Olson from 2012 – 2020, David is well positioned to lead the organization into an exciting next chapter of growth and success with the upcoming and existing projects in the Centron portfolio. David has a passion for leading and developing high performing teams, while focusing on people and culture. David earned his MBA, Accounting and Finance at Queens University and started his career on the tools, attending Confederation College where he earned his Red Seal Certification and Master Electrician License. David and his wife Lisa have three children, and all reside in Calgary. Centron is a best in class, full service Real Estate Development and self performing Construction company operating primarily in western Canada. Centron focuses on multifamily, office, industrial, retail centres, land development of master planned communities, design-build leases, 3rd party construction, and construction of philanthropic organizations through our Centron Cares Program.

After 36 years of dedicated leadership, excellence, and friendship, the Centron Team wishes to announce the retirement of Wayne Benz, President of the Construction Group. Wayne has worked with and has been an integral leader with Centron since 1987. With more than four decades of experience in the Calgary construction industry holding positions ranging from carpenter to project manager to president. Throughout his career, Wayne has been involved in a wide variety of construction projects, including commercial, institutional, multi-family residential and industrial. Wayne has been instrumental in driving over 6,000,000 ft2 of successfully completed projects including 13,000 multifamily units. Wayne has always been a steady and conscientious professional who leads by example providing experience, mentorship, and insight into all aspects of construction projects and operations. His encouraging personality, dedication and selfless hard work will be greatly missed by everyone who had the opportunity to work with him. Over the years Wayne has been passionate about his charitable endeavors supporting the Foothills Academy School, Hull Family Services, Accessible Housing, and Trellis Society. We are fortunate to have Wayne continuing in an advisory role going forward with Centron. Wayne will be enjoying his retirement with his wife Cathy, his children Lisa and Kristy (Kit), their families, and his grandchildren. Having completed 37 marathons, he has many more in his sights.
