How often should you change or clean filters? Filters should generally be checked every month and be replaced or cleaned if necessary. Replace filters with the same kind and size as original filter. If your filter is reusable, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning. These days thermostats can tell when the filter needs cleaning (e.g. flashing “Replace Filter” on the screen). This is a simple fix to significantly extending the life of your furnace and saving fan energy costs at the same time. www.aspenheating.ca
