On Thursday, September 24, 2026, the energy industry gathered at McMahon Stadium in Calgary for another successful Pull for Wishes event. This was STEP's fourth year participating in Pull for Wishes, and we're proud to say we raised $94,793.50 plus an additional match from Collicutt Energy Services, Inc. $3,000 for second place in support of Make-A-Wish Canada , our highest total to date.

This year, STEP Energy Services Ltd., Trican Well Service , Liberty Energy , and Halliburton joined forces once again to raise funds for children in Southern Alberta facing critical illnesses. The day was filled with friendly competition, outstanding teamwork, and a shared commitment to making a meaningful impact in our community.

Together, all four teams helped raise over $300,000. This total will help grant approximately 30 wishes for children facing critical illness in Southern Alberta.

Thank you to everyone who donated, participated, volunteered, and supported the event. And a special thank you to our One Team participants from STEP and Sanjel Energy Services and Wayfinder, along with our Team Captain, for your dedication, energy, and team spirit. Your commitment helped make this year's event another memorable success.

Pull for Wishes continues to demonstrate what's possible when industry peers come together in support of a cause that extends far beyond the work we do.

On September 30, we recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Today we reflect on the experiences of the children, survivors, families, and Indigenous communities impacted by Canada’s residential school system.

Reconciliation calls on all of us to listen, learn, and take meaningful steps toward a better future.

Wearing orange is one way to show support, but there are many ways to continue learning and taking action:

Learn: Take time to learn about the history of residential schools and the experiences and perspectives of Indigenous Peoples. Explore free educational resources and courses. Learn more through Indigenous Services Canada

Listen & reflect: Seek out the voices and lived experiences of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. Create space for meaningful conversations and reflection.

Take action: Look for ways to support Indigenous communities and organizations through volunteering, donating, or learning about initiatives in your community. Support Indigenous charities through CanadaHelps

Today, and throughout the year, we encourage everyone to continue learning, listening, and taking meaningful steps toward reconciliation.

We’re proud to support Discovery House's Rebuilding Futures Campaign.

STEP and Sanjel are honored to contribute to this campaign, helping modernize Discovery House’s shelter so Calgary mothers and children who have experienced violence have safe, supportive spaces to heal and rebuild.

The campaign will help complete upgrades to 12 additional units, as well as create an art therapy room, counselling spaces and other calming areas for families. Improvements will also enhance accessibility, energy efficiency, airflow and ventilation.

A special thank you to our valued client for bringing this important initiative to our attention and helping us support such meaningful work in our community. The Rebuilding Futures Campaign is 80% of the way to its $10 million goal. Help Discovery House reach the finish line.
