This Thanksgiving, we’re grateful for our team, their families, our partners, shareholders and everyone supporting our efforts to build Canadian technology here at home.

After more than 35 years developing products and building Canadian businesses, our CEO and Gen X engineer, V-Bond Lee, remains focused on what comes next: putting that experience to work alongside the next generation, so they can build on it and take Canadian technology further.

For the next generation, including our sons and daughters, that means opportunities to develop their own ideas, build meaningful careers and help shape Canada’s future. Through our work in batteries and advanced carbon materials, we’re pushing the boundaries of engineering while creating opportunities for the next generation to build Canadian technology here at home.

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, Volt Carbon remembers the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives, the first responders and all those whose lives were forever changed.

The tragedy reinforced the importance of stronger building standards and fire-resistant materials that can help structural supports maintain their strength longer during a fire, providing more time for evacuation and emergency response.

It reminds us why we support the development of fire-protection systems incorporating materials such as vermiculite and expandable graphite.

We remember those who were lost and honour the courage of those who responded.

This week, Volt Carbon strengthened its Technical and Business Advisory Board with three appointments:

• Rear Admiral Charles “Chip” Rock, U.S. Navy (Ret.)
• Tim Spadafore
• Theresa Irving

They join Jonathan A. Yuen, Ernest “Ernie” Hinojos, Corbett M. Landes and Brendan Scott—bringing together experience in defence, national security, technology development and commercialization.

Their experience will support our team as we pursue strategic relationships and commercialization opportunities for our advanced carbon materials and battery technologies.

We have developed three higher-value carbon products from a single manufacturing stream:

Natural graphite → Graphite concentrate
→ Graphene
→ Expandable graphite

Our natural graphite route delivers a major feedstock cost advantage for graphene production; estimated at less than 20% of the feedstock cost of acetylene/oxygen-based methods. One low-cost feedstock. One flexible platform.

Multiple higher value products. We are already producing multiple batches for customer product trials.

Building North American advanced carbon manufacturing capability; sustainable, dry-process, crystallinity-preserving.

This week we announced our first commercial toll processing agreement utilizing our patented Air Classifier technology, representing a minimum annual committed processing volume of 40,000 tonnes and a minimum annual revenue commitment of US$4.0 million, subject to the terms and conditions of the agreement.

This agreement demonstrates the commercial value of our technology and supports our strategy of building scalable solutions across multiple products and industries.

U.S. Patent Issued

Further to our recent patent allowance announcement, Volt Carbon's U.S. Patent No. 12,629,722 has now officially been issued by the USPTO.

Another step forward in building our intellectual property portfolio and advancing innovative graphite processing technologies that support North American graphite and graphene supply chain sovereignty.
