Economic development starts with creating opportunities that generate lasting value for communities.
Through Cacao de Mi Tierra, Gran Tierra Energy and Swisscontact are supporting 80 cacao-producing families in Putumayo with a comprehensive approach that combines technical assistance, business development, market access, and sustainable production systems. By establishing 100 hectares of cacao under agroforestry models, the initiative aims to increase productivity, strengthen family incomes, and build a more competitive and resilient cacao value chain.
Beyond agricultural production, this project is an investment in local economic development, helping create sustainable livelihoods while fostering environmental stewardship and inclusive growth for women, youth, and Indigenous communities.
