"Canada needs a pragmatic policy reset. One where we are ‘eyes wide open’ about our new geopolitical and geo economic reality: that major countries are using statecraft and economic force to coerce trade and dominate strategic resources; where economic force -- and not market fairness --are setting the rules.

One that recognizes where Canada actually stands, relative to our global peers, in terms of GDP growth and productivity.

We need a policy reset that makes Canada -- and the resource-based industries that we as Canadians are blessed with -- competitive for investment capital. And we need to ensure that we are globally competitive relative to the businesses we are in.

It is wonderful to see Canada's new ambition as well as the new positive tone and support for Canadian resource development. But we need to move with speed -- past nice words about ambition -- to actual ex*****on.

Otherwise, incrementalism will be the death us."
