An IMPORTANT lesson for those that have decided to stay on a an RRO (regulated rate option); now known as the Rate of Last Resort for their utilities, specifically for your electricity. ⚡️
Looking at the data on our grids yesterday at approximately 1:00pm, the price for kilowatt hour was one dollar/KWh!
As of 12 noon today, it was $0.27/kilowatt.
And they are expecting it to be over $0.60 a kilowatt for the remaining of the day today!
What does this mean for you? 🤔
It means when your utility company sends the bills out at the end of the month, if you are not on a fixed plan, your bill will get averaged out for the whole month.
And as you can see by the numbers for this month, it is going to be very expensive for anyone not on a fixed rate plan. 💰 💰
In layman terms, It means the electricity grid is getting overworked, prices for power are going to go up quite high, especially if the heat persists and air conditioners keep running as much as they do.
And it doesn’t need to be +30 or 40°C.
It could be as warm as +22 or 23°C.
If you are not on a fixed plan, my advice is talk to an expert and get off that RRO before you are hit with crazy expensive bills.
I MIGHT JUST KNOW SOMEONE! 😉
