On April 29, Cenovus supported the 2026 Try-a-Trade Career Expo, hosted by the Lloydminster Construction Association. Our Lloydminster operations team connected with high school students to talk about skilled trades careers, hands-on learning and opportunities at Cenovus through our student and new grad programs.

During National Volunteer Week, we’re recognizing volunteers like Koroush Sheikhi from our Lima Refinery in Ohio.

In 2025, Koroush dedicated 80+ hours to organizations including the Eagle Scouts, local schools, the local fire hall and the Sunshine Foundation, which supports people living with developmental disabilities. His commitment extends into everyday acts of generosity, like helping his elderly neighbor with yard work.

For National Volunteer Week, we’re highlighting the difference that everyday actions can make thanks to volunteers like Lam Huang from our Asia Pacific region.

In 2025, Lam spent time cleaning up his local park, helping create a cleaner, greener community for everyone. He also mentored colleagues on how to use Cenovus Cares, empowering them to find and create their own volunteer opportunities.

This National Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating the incredible impact of our volunteers, starting with Amy Nerbas from our Lloydminster operations.

Amy played a vital role in coordinating the Thorpe Recovery Centre’s Run Club in Lloydminster, a program that supported more than 350 clients on their recovery journey. The Run Club is designed to be accessible to everyone, helping participants build confidence and work toward a final 5km run.

The future of our industry is built on strong educational and government partnerships.

Cenovus is contributing $2 million to Lakeland College Canada’s School of Energy and School of Trades and Technology to support campus revitalization and the expansion of dual-credit programming for high school students.

Campus enhancements will include equipment upgrades to the existing Cenovus Energy labs at the Lloydminster campus, as well as modernizing key learning spaces in the newly named Cenovus Energy Industrial Trades Building in Vermilion.

For years, Lakeland has consistently delivered strong, job-ready graduates. Since 2023, over 80 students have completed practicum placements and student roles with us, and many have transitioned into long-term roles in our Lloydminster operations.

Today, we pause for the 17th anniversary of the Cougar Flight Helicopter crash, remembering the 17 lives lost in the accident on March 12, 2009.

This tragedy profoundly impacted families, colleagues, and communities across Newfoundland and Labrador as well as the offshore industry. We will never forget.
