We've had quite a few accomplishments and milestones achieved lately in our U.S. Southern Division that should not go unrecognized. Our crews are not without shortcomings, but when challenges arise, we stop, learn, coach, and move forward.
As a team, and as a family, South Texas reached an incredible milestone on September 12, 2026: two years without a recordable injury. When we see our team and when we see our families, we can take pride in knowing that for two years we have sent everyone home safely each day without someone getting hurt.
Rig 137 has reached two years without a recordable injury. The crew, however, is approaching five years, as this team came over from Rig 129. They faced the challenges that come with leaving one rig and transitioning to another, and they did so successfully.
Rig 103 reached three years without a recordable injury back in June. The amount of work and commitment it takes to maintain such a high standard, stay under budget, and keep downtime below one percent is a tremendous accomplishment.
Rig 120 has reached four years without a recordable injury. The crew has overcome challenges and obstacles, gone wherever they were asked, tackled each assignment head-on, and continued to move forward.
Last but certainly not least, Rig 132 officially reached five years without a recordable injury in October.
As Chad "Bungie" Smith put it best:
"South Texas is a unique environment, but the men here are family. We have seen some come and go over the years, but there is not a day that goes by that I don't realize I work with some of the best this industry has to offer. There is no reward I could give that would adequately thank you for what you have accomplished as part of this team. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all."
