What if your rooftop mechanical screen could generate electricity? At Trotter & Morton’s new Head Office in Calgary, AB, we turned a standard building requirement into a clean energy asset.

Our 196.9 kW solar system includes 264 rooftop solar panels and 100 solar fence panels, for a total of 364 solar modules generating renewable energy. Instead of installing a traditional screening fence, we created a solar-powered architectural feature that helps offset electricity costs while maintaining the building’s design and aesthetics.

This project demonstrates how commercial solar can go beyond the rooftop, transforming spaces that would normally be an expense into assets that generate value, and shows that every surface is an opportunity.

Our Trotter & Morton Building Technologies team in Vancouver BC, is proud to celebrate final occupancy at the new PNE Amphitheatre, a landmark project that will help redefine Vancouver’s live entertainment and cultural landscape.

As part of the transformation of Hastings Park, the new venue features a innovative design, expanded capacity, enhanced accessibility, and one of the largest free-span mass timber roof structures in the world. Designed to host concerts, community events, and cultural programming for generations to come, this project represents a significant investment in the future of our city.

Reaching final occupancy is the result of the dedication, expertise, and collaboration of our project team, trade partners, consultants, and clients. We are grateful to have played a role in delivering this iconic venue and look forward to seeing it come to life with future events.

This past weekend, 30 members of the Trotter & Morton team laced up their runners and took part in the Calgary Marathon in support of Ronald McDonald House.

From the 5K to the full marathon, our team showed up with incredible energy, teamwork, and community spirit, all for an important cause that supports families with sick children during some of life’s most challenging moments.

Last month, the New Surrey Hospital and BC Cancer Centre (NSHBCCC) project reached a major milestone with the successful placement of AHU-01 on April 21 and 22, 2026. This marks the first of 15 Air Handling Units to be installed on the project.

The impressive unit measures 50 feet long, 18 feet wide, and 21 feet tall, weighing 80,700 lbs. Its delivery and placement required eight semitrailers and ten hoist picks, all completed safely and successfully.
