Leadership often comes down to something simple: taking the time to connect with people.

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to meet Canada’s Prime Minister. He noticed my San Diego shirt, walked over, shook my hand, and asked about it. I shared that it was from a trip to celebrate my daughter’s graduation from the University of San Diego.

A short conversation, but a memorable one. It was a reminder that behind every title is a person—and behind every story is something that matters.

Moments like these also remind me that, no matter what we accomplish professionally, family remains our greatest source of pride. 🇨🇦
