Today, Pipestone Projects recognizes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We take time to honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities who continue to carry their lasting impacts.

Reconciliation requires more than recognition. It means listening, learning, acknowledging the past and continuing to build respectful relationships with Indigenous Peoples and communities.

Today, we encourage everyone to take time to reflect, learn and consider the role each of us can play in moving reconciliation forward.

Canadian Energy Student Highlight: Jocelyn Mortensen

At Pipestone Projects, we believe in supporting the next generation of professionals entering Canada’s energy industry and helping connect emerging talent with opportunities.

This month, we’re pleased to highlight Jocelyn Mortensen, a recent graduate currently seeking an opportunity in office administration or records management in the Calgary area.

Jocelyn brings industry experience from her time as a Records Management and Document Control Student with CSV Midstream Solutions, where she worked with digital and physical filing systems, Excel data organization, document accuracy and company compliance standards. She has also gained exposure to the land and energy sector through her work with Scott Land & Lease.

Along with her industry experience, Jocelyn has a strong background in administration, reception and customer service. She describes herself as organized, reliable and proactive, with strong communication and time-management skills and a willingness to jump in wherever needed.

Lowering a machine into the trench is a carefully coordinated part of construction. The machine needs to be supported and controlled as it is lowered to help manage bending stresses and prevent damage to it and its protective coating.
Did you know? The number and spacing of lifting points used during a lowering-in operation can be planned based on factors such as pipe diameter, wall thickness, weight and allowable bending stress.
