Every week at Iconic Electric & Controls, our team gets questions from people who want to break into the industry: new apprentices, career changers, and folks hoping to become indentured. So, we’re starting a series to share what we wish everyone knew before their first day on site.
Week 1: Get Your Tickets Before You Apply
Showing up with these already done tells an employer you’re serious and ready to work:
→ H2S Alive
→ Fall Protection
→ Standard First Aid & CPR
→ Aerial Work Platform
→ CSTS-2020 (Construction Safety Training System)
→ WHMIS
**Extra Tip: Keep your driver's license and drivers abstract clean, as many site roles involve driving.
Follow along for the rest of the series. Next week: Recommended Starter Tool List.
