AiM had a fantastic time attending the 2026 Annual AASLA Golf Tournament in Red Deer last week!

Pictured here, Kyle Wig and Noah Aries are joined by Hayden Miller and Mike Roblick for a little friendly golf at the Riverbend Golf & Recreation Area.

Thank you to AASLA, and to all those who attended for another great year in the books. We always look forward to connecting with our friends and colleagues at events like these, and look forward to next year!

Happy Field Photo Friday!

This week, we’re sharing a photo from Jenni from some earlier field work this season.

One of the best parts of working in the field are all the opportunities we have to be present outdoors in nature throughout the year. It gives way to moments like these where something as simple as spotting a Robin’s egg can really bring home the importance and value of the work we do every day to be good stewards of the environment.

From all of us at AiM, we wish you an awesome weekend!

Happy Field Photo Friday!

One has to have pretty good "AiM" to get such an action shot!

No worries though, Jenni has it covered and is sharing this impressive capture of a great blue heron as it zooms overhead.

And zoom they do; reaching speeds of up to 55km/h!

Thank you for the share, Jenni!

From all of us at AiM, we wish you a great weekend!

Happy Field Photo Friday!

As we get ready to zoom in to the weekend, we’re sharing this photo of a couple pronghorn starting back at Cameron McArthur while working in field near Brooks, Alberta.

Pronghorns are interesting creatures: despite their scientific name (Antilocapra americana) translating to "American antelope goat", they’re actually related to the giraffe and the okapi, and are the fastest land animal in North America!

Thank you for sharing, Cameron!

From all of us at AiM, we hope you have an awesome weekend!

Today is Moose Hide Campaign Day, a grassroots, Indigenous-led movement of men, boys and all Canadians who are taking a stand against violence towards women and children.

We are honoured to show our support as we wear our moose hide pins at AiM to help spread awareness of the campaign and show our commitment to respect, honour and protect the women and children in our lives.

Please join us in spreading by sharing it with your friends, family, communities and organizations.

You can learn more about the day and how to participate at https://moosehidecampaign.ca/

Together, we can stand up against gender-based violence.

"Consultation does not land on an empty desk."

In the April edition of CALEP’s “The Negotiator”, Chris Switzer, of our Indigenous Relations team, reminds us that capacity funding reflects a basic reality: meaningful consultation requires capacity.

For a Nation, receiving a notification package doesn't mean it lands on an empty desk. It enters an environment of finite resources, competing priorities, and a massive workload that the outside world rarely sees.

Chris makes a powerful case for why we need to move past arbitrary timelines. When we provide the resources for technical reviews and community engagement up front, the process shifts from being reactive to being truly constructive. It’s about respect for the time and expertise required to respond thoughtfully.

At AiM, we’re big believers in the perspective Chris shares. Meaningful participation shouldn't be a hurdle to clear; it’s the foundation for better projects and stronger relationships.
