Happy Field Photo Friday!

As we get ready to zoom in to the weekend, we’re sharing this photo of a couple pronghorn starting back at Cameron McArthur while working in field near Brooks, Alberta.

Pronghorns are interesting creatures: despite their scientific name (Antilocapra americana) translating to "American antelope goat", they’re actually related to the giraffe and the okapi, and are the fastest land animal in North America!

Thank you for sharing, Cameron!

From all of us at AiM, we hope you have an awesome weekend!

Today is Moose Hide Campaign Day, a grassroots, Indigenous-led movement of men, boys and all Canadians who are taking a stand against violence towards women and children.

We are honoured to show our support as we wear our moose hide pins at AiM to help spread awareness of the campaign and show our commitment to respect, honour and protect the women and children in our lives.

Please join us in spreading by sharing it with your friends, family, communities and organizations.

You can learn more about the day and how to participate at https://moosehidecampaign.ca/

Together, we can stand up against gender-based violence.

"Consultation does not land on an empty desk."

In the April edition of CALEP’s “The Negotiator”, Chris Switzer, of our Indigenous Relations team, reminds us that capacity funding reflects a basic reality: meaningful consultation requires capacity.

For a Nation, receiving a notification package doesn't mean it lands on an empty desk. It enters an environment of finite resources, competing priorities, and a massive workload that the outside world rarely sees.

Chris makes a powerful case for why we need to move past arbitrary timelines. When we provide the resources for technical reviews and community engagement up front, the process shifts from being reactive to being truly constructive. It’s about respect for the time and expertise required to respond thoughtfully.

At AiM, we’re big believers in the perspective Chris shares. Meaningful participation shouldn't be a hurdle to clear; it’s the foundation for better projects and stronger relationships.

You can catch the full piece in the latest issue of The Negotiator on CALEP’s website at https://landman.ca/negotiator

Happy Mother’s Day!

Let’s be real, being a mom is a masterclass in multitasking, patience, and just getting things done, no matter what. Whether you’re a part of our team here at AiM, or a part of our wider community, we see all of the heart and grit you pour into everything you do, both at work and at home.

It’s not just about balancing a career and a family; it’s about the million little unseen things that you handle every single day. We know it’s a lot, and we hope today you get to take a breath, relax, and feel as appreciated as you truly are!

AiM was thrilled to be attend this year’s IRWA Chapter 29 Spring Education Symposium in Niagara Falls!

The symposium provided an invaluable opportunity for our team to sharpen their expertise with sessions that covered topics from elevating ethical awareness and mastering conflict management to real estate law and project management.

We were thrilled to have a strong representation from the AiM team across both the networking mixer and the educational sessions, including Larissa Van Lochem, Georgio Panici, Gabrielle Leakey and Morgan Donaldson.

Pictured below are a few highlights from the photo booth that we sponsored for the networking event. We’re always up for a little fun and it sure didn’t disappoint!

Thank you to IRWA Chapter 29, and all everyone else who participated, we look forward to next time!

Sometimes, you never know what to expect while in the field, but good thing Jenni was quick with the camera to capture this beautiful moose on the loose!

Happy Field Photo Friday!

Nothing says spring quite like a throwback to colder times from earlier this year!

This week, we’re sharing this field photo from Aaron Charchuk of some of our ice cutting services being performed in Northern Alberta. Our environmental team includes certified ice and swift water technicians with power-saw certification that are experts in safely performing this type of work.

Thank you for the share, Aaron!

From all of us at AiM, we’re wishing you a great weekend!
