What's in the ground changes how you drill.

Working on hazardous or contaminated sites requires more than standard drilling protocols. Rigorous on-site safety standards, proper PPE and hazardous materials handling, and minimal-fluid sonic drilling that reduces cross-contamination and waste while preserving sample integrity are all part of how Sonic Edge approaches impacted property programs.

If you're an environmental project manager who needs confidence that your drilling contractor can work safely and responsibly on contaminated sites, you can count on Sonic Edge to show up prepared and protect both the people on site and your project.

Some projects need water. Others need it gone.

Groundwater can be a resource or a risk. At Sonic Edge, we help you manage both. We install water wells and dewatering systems for projects that need water supplied or water kept out, including water supply for drinking water systems, process water for industrial operations, and dewatering to keep excavations, tunnels, and open pits dry, stable, and safe to work in.

Every well starts with precise drilling. Accurate placement of casing, screen, and gravel pack sets up proper well development, which supports reliable pump test data on yield, drawdown, and aquifer response.

If you're planning a water supply or dewatering project, our team is ready to talk through your site.

Prequalified before you pick up the phone.

Contractor prequalification is a non-negotiable part of working on regulated and high-risk sites across Canada. Sonic Edge holds the credentials that give clients confidence before the rig ever arrives.

✔️ Our COR certification demonstrates that our health and safety management system has been independently audited and meets national standards.

✔️ Avetta and ISN registration means we are prequalified and ready to work with energy sector clients who require third-party contractor verification.

✔️ ComplyWorks registration keeps our documentation current and accessible for clients managing contractor HSE requirements across large programs.

If you're an engineering firm, environmental consultant, or energy operator, working with a COR-certified, Avetta- and ISN-registered contractor can mean fewer prequalification delays and more confidence in your contractor selection.

Rigs book up. Crews commit. Q4 arrives either way.

If you're an engineering firm, environmental consultant, or construction planner, securing your drilling partner early makes you more likely to get the equipment, the crew, and the mobilization timing your program needs.

At Sonic Edge, early engagement also means better program design. We work with clients ahead of mobilization to coordinate logistics, match drilling methods to expected ground conditions, and prepare for what each site may bring, helping your Q4 program run efficiently from the first day on site. Do not wait until schedules are full.

What vents at the surface starts well below it.

Surface casing vent flow (SCVF) is a closely regulated condition on Alberta well sites, and for good reason. When gas migrates from subsurface formations and vents at the surface, it creates environmental, safety, and wellbore integrity concerns that operators must measure, report, and address under AER requirements.

Sonic Edge supports SCVF investigations across Alberta, providing the field measurement, gas sampling, and regulatory documentation that oil and gas engineers and operators need to stay compliant and manage their well inventory responsibly.

The best drilling programs do not start at the borehole.

They start with a conversation. Sonic Edge works with clients early in the planning process, helping plan site logistics, recommend drilling methods suited to the ground, and anticipate conditions before the rig ever arrives on site.

That early engagement can mean fewer surprises, better data, and a program that runs more efficiently from start to finish. Whether you are planning a Phase II environmental site assessment, a geotechnical program, or a long-term monitoring installation, Sonic Edge is the kind of drilling partner that shows up ready to think through the details with you.

Drilling gets you to depth. Testing tells you what's there.

Not all subsurface data comes from drilling alone. Downhole testing methods like the Standard Pe*******on Test (SPT), Cone Pe*******on Test (CPT), and slug tests each measure something different and suit different ground conditions and program objectives.

Understanding which method fits your investigation is the difference between useful data and a gap in your report.

Sonic Edge supports a range of downhole testing methods as part of geotechnical and hydrogeological programs across Canada, helping engineers and consultants get the right data for design and assessment.

Lab samples tell part of the story. In-situ testing tells the rest.

Packer tests, Lugeon tests, and seismic crosshole testing collect subsurface data directly from the formation under real-world conditions. They deliver the hydraulic conductivity, rock mass permeability, and dynamic property data that mining and mineral exploration engineers need for tailings foundations, pit wall stability, and ore zone strength.

Sonic Edge performs in-situ testing as part of comprehensive resource characterization programs across Canada, giving your team the data that lab samples alone cannot replicate.

Not all ground vibrates the same way.

Frequency plays a key role in sonic drilling, affecting both sample quality and pe*******on performance. Sonic drills typically operate between 50 and 200 Hz, and adjusting that frequency to match formation conditions is what separates a good sonic program from a great one.

Adjusting frequency to suit the formation helps reduce friction between the drill string and surrounding material, so the bit can advance faster and more cleanly with minimal disturbance to the sample.

If you're a geotechnical or environmental engineer, that means a drilling method that adapts to your site rather than forcing your site to adapt to it.

Good exploration data starts with a crew that knows the ground.

Quebec's mining regions are home to some of Canada's most active exploration programs, and Val-d'Or is right in the middle of that activity.

Sonic Edge's Val-d'Or location gives mineral exploration programs in the region access to experienced crews, versatile drilling equipment, and the kind of local knowledge that makes a difference when you are working in remote or technically demanding terrain. From diamond drilling and core sampling to geotechnical investigations supporting mine development, Sonic Edge delivers consistent, high-quality results for mining and mineral exploration clients across Quebec.
