A Phoenix Spotlight – with Noel Perrin
Introduce yourself! What’s your name, title, how long you've been with Phoenix Energy, and a brief description of your role? My name is Noel Perrin, born December 1959, in Edson, Alberta. I have lived in the Edson area my entire life, finishing school, and starting work in the Oil & Gas industry, June of 1977. My card says Business Development, however at 64 years of age we call it a Salesman. I started working for Rodfather Compression February 2023, promoting all divisions of Phoenix Energy Services Inc. My primary focus is selling Rodfather Compression ‘s mechanical services and capabilities, as well as marketing Zahroof StraightFlo compressor valves. They are a reed module valve patented in 2010, becoming commercially viable product in 2013 . They are designed as a replacement for the conventional spring and plate valve, patented in 1895. I will travel to any place where there is an interest in the valve. My district runs from Ft. Nelson , B.C. to Estevan, Saskatchewan.
What inspired you to join Phoenix Energy, and how has your journey with the company been so far? The inspiration to join Rodfather, first was seeing how well Dustin Zukowski regards his employees and how the entire management team of Phoenix Energy Services are genuinely nice young people. Their employees work with them, not for them, which is very important in my mind. The employees enjoy working together and being part of the company.
How do you stay motivated and continue to develop your skills in your position? The challenge of introducing new technology into the industry and getting people to realize there is a better way of doing things motivates me. Meeting new people is always a good thing. Another big motivation is my banker. I don’t need an alarm clock, because she phones me every morning and tells me to get out of bed because I owe her money.
What advice would you give to someone interested in pursuing a career in the energy industry? In spite, of what the left leaning people of the world will tell you, fossil fuels will be the main source of energy in our world for decades to come. I encourage young people to get into the trades and work in the energy industry. It has treated generations of people very well and will continue to do so.
