Racer Machinery International (RACER) is pleased to announce its long anticipated entry into the design and manufacture of Additive Manufacturing platforms. With the recent contribution received through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario’s (FedDev Ontario) Aerospace Regional Recovery Initiative (ARRI), RACER will accelerate their project to create Laser based Directed Energy Deposition (LDED) prototypes that will demonstrate its capabilities in early 2024. These initial platforms will feature a 2-meter cube (8 cubic meters total) build volume, employing a closed loop self-learning suite of technologies that manage critical parameters and drive its overall process control. Our future process will allow for scalable, targeted accuracy and finish within a single build of a net use part form.
RACER will leverage its experience employing unique multi axis capability, providing maximum build flexibility and accuracy. RACER’s LDED solution will have a build volume range from 1-meter cube with future room size solutions being possible. Its applications will range from repairs to complex component fabrication.
