When a food recall hits, how much safe food gets thrown out with it?

Without precise, batch-level data, manufacturers can't pinpoint what's actually affected. So even if most of the batch is fine, all of it becomes waste. This is where coding can be a food manufacturers secret weapon. When every package carries accurate, machine-readable data, a recall can be attacked with surgical precision. It's a win-win for both food safety and waste reduction.

The back-to-school rush is hitting shipping docks right now. Our piezo-based system is built for direct, high-contrast marking on absorbent and porous materials, laying down sharp, legible case codes and barcodes right on the box. No labels, no contact, no slowing the line.

In Canada, the building season is brutally short, and every frost-free week counts. When the weather finally cooperates, the pressure hits everyone supplying the jobsite.

The hard part isn't printing a code. It's printing one that survives. Rough lumber, treated wood, and panels soak up ink, scatter it making it challenging to read, or becomes unreadable with wear and weather.

So we're curious.. Which surface is toughest to mark cleanly in your business? Share your POV in the comments below.

Summer production runs are unforgiving: high speeds, condensation, and non-stop changeovers. You need reliable coding that keeps chugging along your line at every shift. Continuous Inkjet (CIJ) is built for exactly that. Think clean, legible date and lot codes on smooth, non-absorbent surfaces, with drying fast enough to keep up with the line.

Label-free packaging is one of the hottest sustainability conversations in beverage manufacturing right now. Simplifying recycling, reducing material costs, and aligning with eco-conscious consumers -- it's clear to see why.
We're curious: where are Canadian producers getting stuck in making this shift to direct-to-container printing? Tell us in the comments below and share your experience.

Some production environments eat printers alive. Sawdust, vibration, temperature swings, abrasive surfaces: all standard in sawmills, lumber yards, steel plants, and building material lines, and the same conditions that quietly kill the marking systems running on them.

The REA Jet DOD 2.0 was built for exactly that. Drop-on-demand technology delivers large character codes up to 140 mm per print head at production speeds over 600 m/min, holding up through vibration, dust, moisture, and temperature swings from −5° to 45°C. Plus, our print heads are engineered for 8x longer life which helps you keep the cost of ownerwship down over time. And because it integrates through the REA TITAN platform, a single controller can run multiple print heads with one operating logic, making it easier to implement at your plant.

If your current system is fighting the environment instead of working with it, the DOD 2.0 is worth a look.

Rosé all day — for your production line, that is.

Smooth sipping requires that same sophisication in your coding and marking. With the industry continuing to evolve and the complexities of printing on glass, it may be time to re-evaulate your production line. Whether you're having challenges with ink adhesion or revamping your product look to keep brand front and centre (vs. your coding elements), we'd love to connect.

If your winery is based in Niagara, PEC or beyond, our locally based Cambridge team is here to support.

Canadian ice cream production peaks in July, which means production lines to code all those tubs, cones, and novelty wrappers are already running hot. For coding and marking, that means more SKUs, faster line speeds, and zero room for smudged best-before dates on a chilled or condensation-heavy substrate.

Here are the must-haves we're seeing to keep things sweet:
💧 Cold and frozen packaging surfaces need inks formulated for low-surface-energy and moisture-rich environments
⏲️ Multi-pack and variety-pack runs necessitate speedy SKU changeovers without flushing the system
📦 Vision-verified coding is moving from ""nice to have"" to standard for retail-ready cases

One controller. Up to four print heads. Zero retraining.

Most manufacturers don't just need a printer. They need a system that fits their line today and can scale with them tomorrow. That's where the REA Jet Titan comes in: managing multiple print heads from a single interface, integrating directly with existing conveyors and PLC-controlled systems, and all with minimal training time.

The best way to evaluate an industrial printer isn't a spec sheet. It's watching it run on your line, on your materials, at your production speed.

That's why at REA Jet Canada, we offer on-site demos. Whether you're in food and beverage, construction or automotive, our local team of experts can show you exactly what our solutions can do, using the surfaces and substrates you actually work with.

If you're evaluating your current coding and marking setup, or you've been managing around a system that isn't performing, reach out to book your on-site demo at
