When was the last time you actually looked at your electricity bill?

If it's been a while, you're not alone. Most of us look at the total and move on but taking a couple of minutes to understand what's on your bill can be really helpful.

Your electricity bill is made up of a few different parts. Some charges like transmission, distribution, local access fees and other regulated charges are there no matter which electricity retailer you choose. Those help pay for delivering electricity to your home and maintaining the grid. They aren't set by your retailer.

The parts that can change are your electricity rate, which depends on the plan you've chosen, and your retailer's administration fee. Those are the areas where comparing retailers can make a difference.

There's excitement in the air today as the kids head back to school. It's also a good reminder for all of us to slow down and keep an eye out around schools, playgrounds and crosswalks. There will be lots of students walking, riding their bikes and catching buses and a little extra patience can go a long way.

Happy National Dog Day to the hardest working Office Manager we know.

Bailey has been part of the Camrose Energy team ever since Maurina adopted her in 2022 and it's safe to say she settled into the job pretty quickly. Whether she's keeping an eye on the front door from under the desk, supervising the office or convincing visitors that treats should absolutely be part of every meeting she takes her responsibilities very seriously.

She might be a little shy at first but if you've been by the office there's a good chance you've met Bailey. She's become a pretty important part of our team and does a great job reminding all of us to take the occasional break, go for a walk and enjoy the little things.

Moving is exciting but let's be honest. It also comes with a pretty long to do list.

If you've got a move coming up don't leave your utilities until the last minute. We're here to help make that part of the move a little easier.

All we ask is that you give us a call at least 10 days before moving day. That gives us time to get everything set up so you can cross one more thing off your list before the boxes start piling up.

Through our Community Connections Program we're proud to support organizations that are helping build and support stronger communities across Alberta.

Recently we had the opportunity to support the Battle River Watershed Alliance with funding for their student education programming along with a new drone that will help monitor the health of our watershed. It's exciting to see technology being used in practical ways to better understand and care for the environment we share.

Today is National Nonprofit Day and we'd like to give a huge heartfelt thank you to all the nonprofit organizations making a difference in communities across Alberta.

The countdown is on!

The Love Local Camrose Big Block Party is now less than a month away, and we couldn't be more excited to see Downtown Camrose filled with people, local businesses, great food, live entertainment, and everything that makes this community so special.

Events like this are a great reminder of why we believe so strongly in supporting local. They bring neighbours together, shine a spotlight on local businesses and organizations, and remind us just how much there is to celebrate right here in our own communities.

At Camrose Energy, we believe in giving back to the people and places that make strong communities. That's why we created our Community Connections Program, a commitment to donating to organizations that build community and reflect the values of the customers we're proud to serve.

Our customers are the foundation of everything we do. This program is our way of saying thank you, by strengthening our connection to the causes that matter most to our customers in their communities. We are lucky to not only call Randy a customer, but also a friend.

Randy Simmet applied for and is accepting a donation to the CNIB. This cause is near and dear to Randy’s heart, as he is legally blind. He is an advocate and support to those locally to those who are also visually impaired. The funds will go toward assisting those who are adjusting to their new life, with reduced or no vision.
