Kalesnikoff designs and produces mass timber as well as modular and prefabricated mass timber, while continuing to mill specialized lumber products. This gives our team full control of quality and precision from the forest to design solutions to project completion. We have extensive experience working with architects, developers and general contractors to help create affordable and market multi-storey housing, commercial buildings, infrastructure including schools, firehalls, community centres, as well as workforce housing and other critical projects. As a fourth generation, 85+ year old family-owned company, we have a strong track record of success, based on collaborative relationships with our customers and our community; all thanks to our team of 375 exceptional people. Every stage of construction tells a different story.

From the connection details to the scale of the glulam members, these moments are easy to miss. But they're what make the finished building possible.

Little Flower Academy continues to take shape in Vancouver. A private Catholic school for girls with a long history in the city, the new building will bring modern, mass timber learning spaces to a community that's been part of Vancouver for generations.

Sometimes it's worth slowing down to appreciate the craftsmanship before the walls go up.

Long before panels are installed, every board moves through a process built on precision, coordination, and skilled people behind the scenes.

Can this model hold at scale?

We're finding out in real time and showing our work.

The Knight Building is where this process started. 120 CLT modules, manufactured and assembled at our Castlegar facility, shipped to Big Sky, Montana, and craned into place at a rate of up to 20 modules a day, through a Montana winter.

Total build time: 11 months, start to finish. The result is workforce housing for 96 people.

It went on to win the MBI Award of Distinction and the WoodWorks Wood in Architecture Award.

Now we're running that same sequence on Fourfold, in Nelson B.C, at a different scale.

We're not claiming the answer. We're building it, module by module and we'll keep showing you how it goes.

Introducing Pine Street Place, a new model of family housing in Nelson.

Four mass timber townhomes, designed by Stanley Office of Architecture, built using CLT and modular components manufactured right here in the Kootenays by Kalesnikoff.

The CLT panels that make up each home start at our mass timber facility. From there, they move to our modular facility, where they're assembled into complete, finished modules before heading to the building site. That means less disruption to the neighbourhood and a much faster build overall.

Each home offers 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and approximately 1,500 sq. ft. of light-filled living space, along with an open carport and a private rooftop terrace with views of the surrounding landscape.

Fourfold shows what's possible when design and regional manufacturing work hand in hand. Homes built for real families, right here in the Kootenays.

Thanks to Stanley Office of Architecture for the vision and collaboration on this project, to Cal Kooznetsoff for bringing it to life on site, and to the City of Nelson for supporting new housing models like this in the community.

Most job sites generate a lot of waste. Up to 30% of materials on a typical build end up in a landfill.

Mass timber works differently. Every panel and beam is engineered and cut to exact specification before it ever leaves our facility, not shaped on site.

Even the offcuts get put to use instead of thrown away.

It's part of how we get more out of every tree we harvest.
