As we (finally) start to wrap up another snow-clearing season, we wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to all the residents, businesses, and organizations in Port aux Basques and across the west coast for your support—and at times, your patience.

The past 12 months have been incredibly busy, challenging, and rewarding. We went from a jam-packed construction season straight into one of the longest and busiest winters in recent years, and now we’re gearing up to do it all over again.

We know that a lot of the work we do has a direct impact on the community—and not always in the most convenient ways. Road closures, dust, and the noise of heavy equipment aren’t easy to deal with, and we don’t take that lightly.

But through it all, the support we’ve received from this community has meant a lot to our entire team.

We’re proud to be local, support local, and we’re looking forward to another great year ahead.

With nearly 50 cm of fresh snow, it’s been quite the last 24 hours.

Our crews have been working around the clock to keep up with the storm and continue the cleanup efforts. With this volume of snowfall—and more expected over the next few days—it will take longer than usual to get everything fully cleared and back to normal.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work through it safely and efficiently. Please give operators and equipment plenty of space while they’re out on the roads,

PAB Snow Clearing and Manuel’s Construction would like to extend a huge thank you to the community of Port aux Basques and surrounding areas.

This past weekend, the 3rd annual Jerry Osmond Memorial Softball Tournament was held here in PAB, along with a BBQ to help raise money for local charities.

We want to extend a huge thank you to the following businesses for helping make our BBQ happen;

Atlantic Edge Credit Union

Thanks to all the local support and all the athletes, this was the most successful year to date, with $1500 being raised. These donations have been split between the St. James Elementary School Breakfast Program, St. James Regional High School Breakfast Program, and Port aux Basques Youth Broomball.

A huge thank you also goes out to Travis Mauger and Donovan Fudge who have planned and executed this softball tournament every year.

Our dedicated staff also deserve a huge shoutout as many of them worked and volunteered their time over the weekend to help make this possible.

Jerry, our Dad, loved nothing more then giving back to the community and supporting local sports, and we love carrying on his legacy.

The crew was busy this week getting some cleanup and road grading projects knocked out before the long weekend.
