Another SPARTA USL5000 has moved from our Greater Sudbury shop to site.

For mine operators, the issue is not only equipment selection. It is whether the supplier can move work through the shop and deliver completed units when they are needed.

An underground equipment purchase does not end when the unit leaves the shop.

The relationship starts with understanding the work the machine has to complete underground, including the route, duty, access, maintenance requirements and site conditions.

From there, the equipment has to be engineered, built and tested around the approved configuration. During the build, the customer needs clear communication on approvals, changes, progress, schedule and factory acceptance.

Once the equipment is in service, the relationship continues through parts, service, repairs, component support and eventually rebuild planning.

That full lifecycle matters because mines are not only buying a machine. They are taking on an asset that has to remain supportable for years.

For TES Inc., the objective is straightforward:

A PO is the start of the build relationship.

Final equipment configurations can involve customer drawings, site requirements, engineering approvals, purchased components and changes that need to be resolved before the unit reaches the mine.

For TES Inc., that means the customer relationship continues through the entire build.

From PO to delivery, the work includes:

• Configuration and engineering review

• Drawing and customer approvals

• Long-lead component management

• Fabrication and assembly

• Change control

• Build progress and schedule updates

• Factory acceptance testing

• Documentation, critical spares and delivery preparation

For multi-unit orders, that relationship can continue across several staged builds and deliveries.

The equipment matters.

For 2027 underground fleet planning, the bigger question is whether the delivery window you need will still be available when the order is ready to release.

Across the market, planned work is moving into committed work. As that happens, capacity gets taken up by equipment type, configuration and build slot.

For mines and contractors, that means the planning question is not just:

How long does the unit take to build?

It is also:

When does this requirement need to become firm if the equipment has to be in service for a specific production date, development schedule or mobilization?

We’re hiring an Inside Sales Representative- Parts & Customer Service to join the TES Inc. team in Greater Sudbury (Chelmsford).

This role will work directly with customers on parts inquiries, quotations, purchase orders and order follow-up, while coordinating closely with our Parts and Warehouse teams.

Over time, the position will also develop customer relationships, identify upcoming parts and component needs, and help grow repeat business.

Direct mining or parts-sales experience is an asset, but it is not required.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable speaking with customers, confident picking up the phone, organized with computer systems and paperwork, and dependable about following things through.

If you have experience in customer service, inside sales, parts, industrial supply, equipment, automotive or another fast-paced order environment, we would like to hear from you.

For 2027 fleet requirements, lead time is only part of the issue.

The bigger question is whether the required delivery period is actually committed.

There are already underground fleet programmes extending through 2027 and beyond. As more planned work becomes firm, available manufacturing capacity will tighten by product, configuration and delivery period.

For equipment tied to development, production or contractor mobilization, that matters.

Not every underground job fits a standard equipment configuration.

Tight headings, site safety requirements and specific production tasks can all change what the machine needs to do.

TES Inc. works with mines to modify SPARTA and MineReach builds around those requirements. Sometimes that means a straightforward change to an existing configuration. Other times the job requires a more involved engineered solution.

With design, fabrication in-house, TES can work through the requirement with the mine and carry the change through to the finished build.

These are equipment problems first.

Each custom build started with a mine requirement that did not line up cleanly with the standard equipment configuration.

Our in-house design team and fabrication capability gives us the ability to work from the requirement, determine what actually needs to change, and carry that change through the build.

TES Inc. builds ANFO loaders on both the MineReach and SPARTA carrier platforms.

MineReach provides a smaller, non-articulating footprint while maintaining 5.5 m (18 ft) of reach and a 2,270 kg (5,000 lb) lift capacity through the TES-designed roller boom.

For operations requiring greater onboard ANFO capacity, SPARTA provides a larger articulated carrier with a dedicated charging configuration.
