Keeping your greenhouse cool and efficient as temperatures rise!

IndyGrow recently supported a client with servicing their evaporative cooling system. A useful component in maintaining optimal growing conditions through the warmer months.

Evaporative cooling walls work like a waterfall, where water flows over corrugated pads while fans pull air through. This process naturally cools incoming air before it enters the greenhouse.
But like any system, regular maintenance matters. Routine servicing not only extends the lifespan of your equipment but also helps reduce potential health risks, including issues related to water quality.

With summer just around the corner, now is the time to make sure your system is clean, functioning properly, and ready to perform when you need it most.

A smooth and successful poly replacement by IndyGrow.

The day started off a little challenging, with stronger winds than ideal for installing poly. Instead of rushing, we focused on prep work including replacing baseboards, repairing doors, and strengthening structural elements to make sure everything was ready.

Once the wind settled and the sun came out, we had the perfect window to install the new roof safely and stretch it drum tight for a clean, professional finish.
This project also marked a first for us with blue poly. It is not our usual choice, but we are always happy to bring our clients’ vision to life.

Another service completed by IndyGrow.

We recently repaired several sliding roof glass panels in an active production greenhouse, helping close gaps to reduce heat loss and minimize drips onto crops. When standard hardware didn’t quite fit, we put together a practical solution on-site to keep everything secure and working properly.

Keeping glass panels in good condition helps maintain a safe and efficient growing environment.

Spent the day helping Yale First Nation tackle a roof leak and get their sliding door back on track. Always satisfying to solve these challenges. We can’t wait to return with permanent solutions!

Spent the day at the Agassiz Research and Development Centre troubleshooting ventilation issues — diagnosing exhaust fan motors, checking actuator function, and freeing up a few seized louvers.

One exhaust fan motor wasn’t operating at all. After tracing the issue, I was able to get it running without replacement and set them up with a backup motor to keep on the shelf as insurance.

Always appreciate the opportunity to support facilities doing important research work here in the Fraser Valley.
