Civil Pipe Layer / Labourer

Location: Fraser Valley

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Pipe Layer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing water, sewer, and storm systems according to MMCD specifications and safety standards. You will work alongside site supervisors, equipment operators, and other crew members to ensure high-quality and efficient installations on civil infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Install water, sanitary, and storm sewer piping systems according to MMCD standards
Grade and prepare trenches for pipe installation
Set and align pipes, fittings, and manholes to proper grade and alignment
Read and interpret construction drawings and site plans
Assist with testing, backfilling, and restoration
Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely
Work collaboratively with the crew and follow supervisor direction

Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental guidelines
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in civil pipe installation (water, sewer, storm)
Strong knowledge of MMCD specifications and municipal standards.

Ability to work in physically demanding outdoor environments
Capable of using levels, lasers, and pipe-laying tools accurately
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Assets (Preferred)

Experience operating small equipment (e.g., packers, saws, laser levels)
CSTS, WHMIS, or other relevant safety certifications
Experience on municipal infrastructure or subdivision projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water, sewer, and storm system installation, with a solid understanding of MMCD specifications and the ability to manage teams safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities;

*Supervise and coordinate civil crews and subcontractors

*Plan daily production, materials, and inspections to meet project goals

*Ensure all work meets MMCD standards and municipal requirements

*Maintain quality control and resolve on-site challenges proactively

*Lead safety meetings and enforce site safety compliance

*Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and inspectors

*Prepare daily reports and track site progress

Qualifications;

*Minimum 5 years of civil construction supervision experience

*Strong knowledge of MMCD standards, grading, and underground utilities

*Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
