A pretty typical geotech drilling exploration with a few complications. The site could only be accessed on the weekend, the access itself was an extremely tight alley that was littered with construction equipment/supplies, and once we got in we had to get everything turned around and staged around multiple structures that couldn’t be moved. Got in, got it drilled, kept it clean and left it spotless, then put everything back where it belonged so the site could be open for use again Monday morning. Another great project completed with Downrite Drilling. 😎👍

Daylighting to verify utility depths and take environmental/ geotechnical samples. The in house small dump truck saves the client having to bring in another contractor deliver backfill/hang around between locations.. Each location was backfilled, compacted, and cleaned up to city spec prior to moving on to the next. 😎

A few photos of what we’ve been up to after the sun goes down. Graveyard environmental sampling and then backfill/patching with a pretty elaborate traffic set up. We now offer Aquaphalt asphalt patch as a permanent asphalt repair option. Aquaphalt is about 5x the cost of temporary cold patch but goes down easier, looks cleaner, and is considered a permanent repair. It’s a lot more cost effective than bringing in a hot patch crew for small projects.

This is the biggest heating oil UST we’ve ever done.. We’ve cleaned larger fibreglass fuel tanks but not a giant steel one like this.. Had over a foot of sand and rocks in the bottom of it, the oil had turned into a thick black tar that looked like crude, and the manhole was too narrow to get our shoulder through. Made quick work of it once the excavator operator agreed to punch a hole in the end of it for us though. 😎 💪

We weren’t planning on running any trucks this week due to the family news but couldn’t pass on a couple good days with the Downrite team to finish out the month.. Daylighting, slurry/cuttings removal, and site clean up. Have to leave them cleaner than you find them. 😎👌 Back to full speed next week and already booked up for 75% of Feb. We still have some availability for 1 truck after Feb 16th if needed. 😃

This is the other little reason it’s been quieter around here lately. We welcomed the newest member to the team on Monday afternoon. So far her training is going terribly. She won’t stay awake long enough to do her safety training and I’m having a hard time finding PPE that fits her but she’ll be on the job as soon as I sort that out. 😂
