Soluroc Cobourg is investing more than $5.4 million to expand its local operations, including an 18,000-square-foot facility expansion and new advanced manufacturing equipment.

The expansion will help create 12 new jobs and retain 27 existing positions , another exciting investment in Cobourg’s growing manufacturing community.

CANtrade™ has returned to support tariff-impacted businesses across Northumberland County!

📅 Application Deadline: January 31, 2027

Nventure is supporting the delivery of CANtrade™ for businesses across Northumberland County, providing eligible established businesses with access to financing to help navigate tariff and trade challenges. The CANtrade™ initiative is delivered through the Community Futures Program, supported by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).

Eligible businesses may access $5,000 to $150,000 in financing to increase production capacity, strengthen supply chains, invest in technology and talent, expand into new markets, and diversify revenue streams.

COMMUNITY: The Town of Cobourg would like to advise the community to expect major traffic delays and rolling road closures on Wednesday, May 6, around the Cobourg Community Centre and Venture13 and surrounding roads (i.e. D’Arcy Street, Division Street) from approximately 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Additional details will be shared when available.

A private funeral service for OPP Sergeant Brandon Malcolm will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cobourg Community Centre. The service will not be open to the public.

For all who wish to join us in honouring Sergeant Malcolm’s life, details on a livestream of the funeral service will be made available closer to the service date.

Expressions of condolence may be shared at opp.ca/news. A book of condolences is also available at the Northumberland OPP (Brighton) Detachment for anyone wishing to express their sorrow in person. For anyone who wishes to send flowers, they can be sent to the Cobourg Community Centre, 750 D’Arcy Street, Cobourg, Ontario.
