Round #2 of AMSA and our first WOC round was a success for Dirt Raptor Racing with the PeeWee’s showing Dad how it’s done this weekend. Felix got 1st place in PeeWee Intermediate & Tahnee got 1st in PeeWee Beginner giving them both the overall lead in their series. I had a bad start and trying to make up time had a silly crash that cost me a bunch more time fixing a ripped rad hose but still finished 13th in 30B on a fairly hard course! Looking forward to Round #3 at Rivières Revenge!

Second Gear Club Series all wrapped up with some solid finishes for Dirt Raptor Racing! Tahnee finished her first ever series in 1st overall in PeeWee Beginner division. Felix finished 3rd overall in PeeWee Intermediate & I finished 2nd overall in 30B. Can’t wait for the awards and next years series!

Round #3 of the Second Gear Club Off-Road Series was a wet one & one to remember! I kicked it off Saturday in 30B with a 2nd place finish for my first ever racing podium🥈 The kids finished it off on Sunday with Tahnee in Peewee Beginner getting 2nd for her first ever racing podium too🥈! She raced so good and her speed improves with every race⚡️ Felix had a huge group of over 20 riders in Peewee Intermediate and rode awesome achieving a solid 8th place! Next weekend we tackle the monster at Resurrection! 🏁

Awesome weekend for racing! Second Gear Club Series Race #2 Moose Mountain was an awesome one. Got speared by a tree in the left shoulder flying up a hill early in the first lap and despite regrouping on the ground for 10 minutes and then taking another 5 after limping through the rest of the first lap I managed to pass a few people and finish 5th. Think I could have finally podiumed had I not had that injury.. oh well! Maybe next weekend in Vega!

After taking that log spear to my shoulder I can’t imagine how knights used to do jousting… that log knocked me right back off my back going as fast as I could up that hill..

Loving the early summer conditions. Kids are developing their skills and improving all the time! Porkies was a blast for everyone, Tahnee placed 5th again while Felix had a strong 8th place finish. Despite some very time consuming mechanical issues and repairs I managed to finish in 10th. Gonna need a strong showing at Vega to move up the standings!

McGraths Hare Scramble was awesome start to the season for us! After a terrible first lap shaking off the rust I found my groove and worked my way up to a 5th place finish Saturday. Tahnee kicked off Sunday with her first ever race and she did amazing against some very fast competition coming in 5th as well! Congratulations on your first race baby it was so much fun to watch you and I’m sure your first podium will come soon! Felix moved up a division this off-season to PeeWee Intermediate and did awesome with a 3rd place finish in his very first race!! I wish we could have stayed for the awards and some podium pictures but sadly I had to catch a flight so we had to leave early! Friends will get his plaque and I will post pics of him with it later this week! First race weekend of the summer complete and wonderful memories made!

We are all so excited for this season of racing! We kick it off with Second Gear Clubs Series opener McGraths this weekend followed by lots more events in both AMSA series as well as possibly some PNWMA events. We will also be riding the Red Bull Outliers event for the first time ever in September!

Well the snow is gone and race season is here! Tahnee will be starting her first ever race next weekend in Peewee Beginner and Felix will have his first race as a Peewee Intermediate. We won’t have a chance to get any seat time prior to the first race so hopefully we can all shake the rust off quickly but the bikes are ready to go!
