HSE Advisor โ Central Newfoundland
Location: Grand Falls-Windsor & Gander, NL

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive HSE Advisor to join our safety team. This role is a key leadership position for our Central Newfoundland operations.
Currently, we require a full-time, on-site presence at our projects in Grand Falls-Windsor. As regional projects evolve, there is the potential for this role to be permanently based out of our Gander office, where the Advisor will lead the coordination of safety programs and planning across all Central Newfoundland project sites.
The successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for safety in the region, ensuring our workforce returns home safely every day while maintaining the high standards of safety excellence Brook Construction is known for.
Key Responsibilities
โข Daily Oversight: Provide consistent, full-time safety leadership and on-site oversight for projects in Grand Falls-Windsor.
โข Regional Coordination: Assist in the long-term coordination of safety efforts for the Central region from the Gander office as project requirements shift.
โข Compliance & Auditing: Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure strict adherence to company policies and NL provincial regulations.
โข Incident Management: Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.
โข Safety Engagement: Facilitate daily toolbox talks, safety meetings, and comprehensive site-specific orientations.
โข Expert Advisory: Support project teams with risk assessments (JHA/FLHA), safety planning, and legislative interpretation.
Qualifications & Requirements
โข Education: Mandatory Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from a recognized post-secondary institution.
โข Experience: 5+ years in the construction industry.
โข Safety Designations: The following professional designations are considered a significant asset: NCSO, NHSA, CRSP, CRST, CHSC, or GSC.
โข Legislative Expertise: A thorough, expert-level understanding of the Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
โข Experience: Proven track record in a safety advisory role, preferably within the construction or industrial sectors.
โข Travel: Must possess a valid driverโs license and a reliable vehicle.
โข The candidate must be willing to work full-time in Grand Falls-Windsor currently, with the flexibility to transition to a Gander-based regional role.
