East Kootenay Chamber of Mines

East Kootenay Chamber of Mines The East Kootenay Chamber of Mines [EKCM] is a non-profit organization, incorporated in 1992 to actively promote education and sustainable mining in BC

The EKCM primary objectives are to:

- Encourage support for exploration and mining activities through increased public awareness and understanding
- Inform and educate our members with respect to current issues affecting the Mining Industry
represent our membership when dealing with legislative and regulatory issues
- Act as a local Industry advocate in addressing policies and initiatives

Our Bo

ard of Director's, elected from membership, meets every 4 to 6 weeks in Cranbrook to review current events, manage finances, establish priorities and delegate responsibility. General membership meetings are scheduled 3-6 times per year throughout the region. The EKCM is currently attempting to increase membership from resource companies and supply/service organizations. The support of Mining Industry representatives is neccesary to strengthen the mandate of the EKCM and to ensure the interests of our members and industry are well-represented.
