The goal wasn't to control the river.

The goal was to reconnect it.

Last year, our crews helped restore natural floodplain function at Braul Marsh near Golden, BC for Ducks Unlimited Canada by breaching existing dikes and reconnecting the marsh to the Columbia River.

Now, as runoff and high water move through the valley, the restoration is doing exactly what it was designed to do.

Sometimes the best engineering is knowing when to let nature take over.

We're proud to announce that Mackay has been awarded the Tunnel Mountain Road Rehabilitation Project in Banff National Park.

This project involves the rehabilitation of approximately 5.4 KM of Tunnel Mountain Road, including roadway excavation, full-depth reclamation, gravel and granular base placement, asphalt paving, drainage improvements, culvert maintenance, line painting, hydroseeding, and traffic management throughout construction.

Located in one of Canada's most iconic national parks, the project will help improve the long-term performance, safety, and reliability of this important transportation corridor for residents and visitors alike.

We look forward to working with Parks Canada and the project team to deliver another successful infrastructure project in the Rocky Mountains.

The mountains don’t stop moving.
So the work can’t stop either.

Constructed in Glacier National Park, the Mounds avalanche berm was built to help protect the Trans-Canada Highway through one of the most demanding corridors in the country.

At the top of Rogers Pass, winter conditions can last 7–8 months of the year, leaving a short window to complete the work.

Different paths.
Same corridor.

While traffic moves above, wildlife pathways beneath the Michele Mouth and Old Town bridges help maintain safe movement through the corridor near Sparwood, BC.

As part of the Highway 3 wildlife exclusion fencing project, our crews supplied rip rap from MacKay Aggregates and constructed the pathways working with Wilco Contractors Southwest Inc. as general contractor for BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit

Some people run shifts.
Others take control of them.

This role isn’t about checking boxes or watching from the sidelines. It’s about leading from the front—keeping your crew safe, your equipment moving, and your production on track when things get tight.

We’re hiring Earthworks Production Supervisors (Shift Boss Certified) for our Elk Valley mining projects.

-7 days on / 7 days off
-12-hour shifts
-Real leadership. Real responsibility.

If you’re the kind of leader who won’t trade safety for production and knows how to deliver both, we want to hear from you.
