Last Saturday Spire spent the day with the community, handing out food and drinks at the Annual Vancouver Vaisakhi parade that runs along Fraser Street! It was a great day of serving and learning more about the traditions and culture of the Sikh people 🧡

In 2015, with industrial space in Metro Vancouver at a record low, Star Marketing had outgrown their facility and faced a big decision.

As you know we walked through the development last week and oh boy is everything coming together.

In other news Douglas Storage is trucking along🚛… literally. Excavation, rock-scaling, loading and hauling blast rock. Concrete is also being poured while we have consultants working away on things like water testing and structural inspections.

Insane progress on the Fraser Street project🤯, just look at those city and mountain views🌇!!!

👷‍♂️🔨Exterior brickwork is well underway, drywall is up on the 6th floor, and cabinet installation has officially started. It’s incredibly cool watching the entire building come together in real time.

We were grateful to take part in this year’s Sleep Out event with Covenant House, a non-profit that provides safety, shelter, and supportive programs for youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Their team offers essentials like food and housing, as well as counselling, life-skills training, and long-term support to help young people build stable, independent futures.

This year’s Sleep Out took place in downtown Vancouver, where local executives spent a night outdoors to better understand the realities many youth face every day.

At Spire Development, we recognize the urgent need for change and are honoured to support Covenant House’s impactful and essential work. ❤️

What’s new this week at Spire Development? 🏗️

At our Douglas Street site in Victoria, things are moving right along 👷‍♀️
• Drilling and blasting are starting in the southeast areas
• Hauling of soil and rock continues
• Waterproofing begins along the south wall
This project is well underway, and we’re happy to share there are no delays in sight 🎉

Over at Spire Landing 2 in Vancouver, there’s a lot of exciting progress happening:
• Patio door installations
• Electrical work
• PTAC grille installations (those sleek vents on the exterior)
• Ongoing sprinkler installation, waterproofing, spray foam, and elevator bracket work

With the wood framing completed, we’re looking ahead to our next big milestone, building envelope completion, projected for April 30, 2026 🏢
