Moray Bridge (previously Middle Arm)—one of three transit bridges in Metro Vancouver—spans the middle arm of the Fraser River, linking Lulu Island with the Vancouver International Airport.

We were contracted to supply access for various works underneath the outside of the bridge.

A big thank you to Coquitlam Ridge Constructors for the opportunity to provide suspended access for this project.

Our scaffolding solution for Simon Fraser University’s East Gym roof renovation needed to work for a span of over 140’—presenting a major high wind, snow, and structural load challenge—without occupying much surface area on the existing roof. Using Sky Truss meant we could manage the roof loads effectively, focusing the loads to the supporting roof columns utilizing space-efficient scaffold legs, which also allowed worker access to the top of the columns for maintenance without obstructing existing roof access. Our Rolling Keder Roof system was adapted and designed to manage the loads, moving to cover different areas of the roof as required throughout the project. Vancouver weather's got nothing on us!

We are thrilled to share news of this win for 'Commercial Collaborative Project of the Year' at the annual Scaffold & Access Industry Association Awards in Denver last month — with all of you, with our amazing team of scaffolders and, of course, with our talented colleagues and friends at aDB Engineering, with whom we worked on this incredible and complex Shoring and Access project.

The Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia holds a special place in the heart of Vancouverites.

Retrofitting the Great Hall was crucial to safeguarding the museum’s irreplaceable collection in the event of a major earthquake. The project's scope included challenges, like managing extreme loads and maintaining precise tolerances during construction. Of note, the precast channel beams weighed approximately 2,400 lbs/lineal ft each.

The goal was to keep the re-creation of the Great Hall as ‘authentic’ as possible in order to preserve its architectural character and the decision was made to rebuild from the ground up, incorporating base isolators under the main suspended floor slab to absorb seismic activity.

Congratulations to all involved in this project from start to finish, and deep thanks to our crew who bring the plans to life!

Collecting donations for winter weather - specifically blankets, coats, jackets, rain gear, gloves, hand warmers, toques, scarves, and socks.

As a way to give back to the community, our scaffolder, Gregg Pete, has organized a donation drive for the unhoused in our city in association with RainCity Housing to celebrate his upcoming 12 months of continued sobriety.

Please drop off donations at our office in Delta during business hours OR let us know in the comments or by DM if you have something to give, and Gregg will arrange pick up before November 30.

We're all proud of Gregg and hope you will join us in supporting his efforts. Vancouver winters are difficult, and every clothing item or blanket will make a difference!

Every year, Skyline Scaffold Ltd and the rest of Canada take a few moments on April 28—National Day of Mourning—to remember all of the workers who have lost their lives on the job.

In 2023, our province of B.C. lost 175 workers due to workplace accidents. Those 175 families will never be the same.

This Sunday’s sad day of mourning is an opportunity for us all to remember to take the time to ensure that we create a safe work place, and to look after each other.
