Why your Mississauga AC smells musty the second it turns on.

That damp, dirty-sock smell is usually mold and bacteria growing on the evaporator coil and in the condensate drain pan.

Moisture plus dust is the perfect breeding ground, and it often shows up after the AC has sat unused for a while.

Spraying air freshener or swapping the filter only masks it, because neither one reaches the buildup baked onto the coil.

A proper coil cleaning, a flushed drain line, and an optional UV light clear the smell at the source and keep it from coming back.

Tired of that musty blast in your Mississauga home? Book Superior HVAC Service for same-day service and ask about $50 off your repair.

Dirty outdoor AC unit in Markham? It could be quietly raising your hydro bill.

Superior HVAC Service handles air conditioning maintenance across Markham, and the outdoor condenser is the part most homeowners forget. When grass, pollen, and debris pack the fins, the coil cannot release heat, so the system runs longer and works harder to cool your home.

A quick hose-down feels productive, but spraying from the outside often drives debris deeper into the coil, leaves baked-on grime behind, and can bend the delicate aluminum fins that airflow depends on. A proper clean rinses the coil inside-out, clears the fins, and straightens them so efficiency comes back.

AC short cycling in Brampton: why your air conditioner won't stop restarting.

If your AC clicks on and off every few minutes, it isn't just annoying, it's running up your hydro bill and wearing out the compressor.

Turning the thermostat down or flipping the breaker rarely helps, because the real cause is usually a clogged filter, low refrigerant, or a system that's oversized for the home.

A licensed technician checks airflow, refrigerant charge and sizing so your AC settles back into long, steady cycles.

Book a same-day AC diagnostic with Superior HVAC Service across Brampton and the GTA.

Ice on your AC line in Vaughan this summer? Do not crank it colder.

You set the thermostat lower, the air somehow gets warmer, and then you spot frost creeping along the copper line near the furnace.

Turning it down even more feels logical, but a frozen coil only ices up faster, and running it that way can damage the compressor.

The freeze almost always starts with restricted airflow from a dirty filter or coil, or with low refrigerant from a slow leak.

We thaw the system, clean the filter and coil, and check the refrigerant charge so your AC cools steadily without freezing over again.

Markham AC tip: why your air conditioner keeps shutting off in the heat.

If your AC quits on the hottest days, the problem is often not the compressor. It is a clogged condensate drain line.

Algae and slime build up inside the dark, damp line until water backs up, pools around your furnace, and trips the safety switch that shuts the system down.

Mopping up the water does not fix it. The slime keeps rebuilding until the line is properly cleared.

A professional drain flush plus seasonal maintenance keeps the condensate flowing and your AC running all summer. Book a tune-up before the next heatwave.

AC cold but house still humid? In Vaughan this June, this is almost always the same fix.
Cooling temperature and removing humidity are two different jobs. Your AC pulls heat out of
the air through a coil, and only when the coil runs long enough does it also pull moisture
out. Above 55 percent indoor relative humidity, the house feels sticky no matter how low the
thermostat reads.
The common culprit is an oversized AC. It hits the set temperature in a few minutes, shuts
off, and the coil never runs long enough to dehumidify. So the room feels cold and clammy
at the same time.
A proper Manual J load calculation tells you the right size for your home. Combined with the
fan set to AUTO (not ON), a clean coil, and the correct refrigerant charge, the air goes cold
AND dry.

week's schedule.

Condo AC blowing lukewarm air? If your system is set to 21°C but your home still feels warm, the issue may be airflow, a dirty filter, fan coil trouble, or even a building-wide cooling problem. In Toronto condos, this is a common summer complaint, especially when the AC runs but never seems to fully cool the space.

If your AC is not keeping up, don’t wait until the heat gets worse.
