Let’s be honest — Canada is acting like metallurgical coal doesn’t matter, when it’s literally the backbone of every bridge, hospital, vehicle, skyscraper, and pipeline in this country.

You cannot build a modern nation without steel.
And you cannot make steel without met coal.
Period.

Yet Canada keeps regulating, delaying, and undermining the very workers and communities that keep our industrial base alive — while other countries recognize met coal as vital to national security and economic strength.

Meanwhile, our coal is cleaner, safer, and more responsibly mined than anywhere else on Earth. Alberta and B.C. do it right. Our workers do it right.
So why isn’t Ottawa stepping up?

It’s time to stop pretending Canada can function without coal.
Call it what it is: essential. Critical. Non-negotiable for a prosperous future.
