What's Changed?
One of the biggest hazards on any job site isn't always obvious.
It's assuming that today's conditions are the same as yesterday's.
In drilling and construction, conditions can change quickly. Weather, ground stability, site access, nearby contractors, traffic patterns, utility locates, and equipment conditions can all introduce new hazards from one day to the next.
That's why taking a few minutes before work begins to stop and ask "What's Changed?" is such a powerful safety tool.
At Pontil Drilling Services, we encourage our teams to continually assess changing conditions and communicate potential hazards before work starts. A strong hazard assessment isn't just paperwork—it's an opportunity to identify risks, implement controls, and prevent incidents before they occur.
Before you begin your next task, take a moment to:
✔ Assess the work area
✔ Verify site conditions
✔ Check equipment readiness
✔ Communicate changes with your crew
✔ Confirm hazards and controls
Sometimes the simplest question can have the biggest impact.
So...What's changed today?
