I had a great time travelling with Rojo and Tony from Nordson training at the Swainsboro Georgia facility. Great experience and learned a lot from the team there. I have a huge appreciation for all of the care and QA checks that goes into every part and every step of the process. Awesome team and they are doing fantastic work there.

I am happy to announce that I have signed an agreement with Nordson Canada to be the packaging service agent for Alberta. It has been my pleasure to work with their products and I am looking forward to supporting the Nordson team and their customers.

This week I was asked to repair the duct work on this fume extraction system. The duct work was not rigid enough so the panels were flexing every time the cleaning solenoids would pulse to knock the dust off of the filters. This caused the metal to fatigue, bolts snapped, seams opened, air quality was poor, and system efficiency suffered. I fixed the damaged welds, installed patch panels over the fatigued joints and installed cross bracing to make the duct work rigid and eliminate the flexing. After the work was complete, the suction improved greatly, there was no more dust leaving the duct work, and there was no flexing so the loud banging is gone as well. A good days work.

This week, my engine blew up near Lacombe AB. I have been trying to organize this job in Sylvan Lake for months and this was the only day that would work. I was able to get a ride into town and rent the only vehicle available, a 20 foot U-Haul truck. After transferring all my tools to the rental, I was able to continue to the customer and get the job done. I later learned that I was the 7th contractor he asked to get this work done for him. The customer was thrilled that the work got done on time and I was happy that I was able to navigate the obstacles to get the job completed!

If you tell someone that you will get something done, they are depending on you to complete the task so do not let them down!

The truck gets a newer engine this week and will be back in service shortly. 😁
