💡 How can a small design change strengthen decades of performance?

Innovation has shaped Argus since the beginning, and one meaningful example comes from 2004, when founder Tommy Hallett patented an improved rotating stem for our pigging valves. The original flat hex design connected to the ball and allowed operators to send or retrieve the pig. It worked, but the flat-to-flat fit could bind at times, making rotation less consistent.

Mr. Hallett’s redesigned system solved that by adding a curved trunnion above the hex. That simple engineering shift removed the interference and delivered a smoother, more reliable rotation.

Today, this design still supports our 2” - 6” 600 ASME pigging valves and reflects a principle at the core of Argus: innovation happens when we study how equipment performs in the field and refine it to make operators work safer, easier, and more efficient.

🎉 Argus turns 67 today!

This milestone is about more than time—it’s about people.

Back in 1977, our employees manually moved a brand-new Mori Seiki NC Lathe into the shop—something that would look very different today. That spirit, however, remains the same: teamwork, ingenuity, and a drive to move Argus forward.

Since 1958, our teams have built Argus into a trusted global partner in pipeline, pressure, cementing, and manufacturing solutions. Their dedication is what carries us into the future.

💙 Our annual employee golf tournament shows that when Argus people come together, good things happen both on the course and in the community.

This year’s Malcolm Buchanan Memorial Golf Tournament welcomed employees, friends, and family for a day of fun, laughter, and friendly competition.

This event carries Malcolm’s name in honour of his memory. As a respected plant manager, a driving force for LEAN initiatives, and a dedicated golfer, he left a lasting mark on Argus. Renamed after his passing from cancer, the tournament continues to celebrate both his contributions and his love for the game.

The best part of this year’s event? Through raffles, 50/50, and mulligans, we raised $1,640 for the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the day’s success. It was a true reflection of what it means to be .

Big pigs saving big emissions.

One of our midstream partners was looking to replace aging barrel traps on their gas lines in the Rockies. These 20 inch 600 ASME pig valves were the solution, reducing vented volumes and simplifying pigging operations. The result is safer and lower-emission pipeline maintenance in the field.

Golf season is in full swing, and we’ve been making the most of it!

It has been a great few months connecting with our distributors, partners, and customers at sponsored tournaments across Canada and the USA.

Some of these events support amazing charitable causes, while others have been fantastic opportunities to network and catch up with industry friends. Whether we are handing out the ever famous Wilhauk beef jerky, snapping photos in the booth, or raffling off a Texas mickey of Crown Royal (which drew a crowd), it has been a blast getting out on the green with you all.

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by the Argus tent so far. We are looking forward to the rest of the season!

40 pigs for 40 pipelines.

Neatly lined up, these 3-, 4- and 6-inch pig valves will be heading out to gathering pipelines across Western Canada.

Soon, they will be hard at work helping operators maintain steady flow and reduce emissions. Regular pigging keeps infrastructure running efficiently, and we are proud to support that every step of the way.
