☀️Want to fill your summer days with excitement, skill-building, and all things STEM? 🧪Apply to be a Junior Instructor or a Camp Volunteer with DiscoverE today!

📣Deadline to Apply: May 24, 2026

🔬If you’re motivated, passionate about STEM, or want to help foster the next generation of scientists and engineers, a summer position with DiscoverE might be the perfect place for you! We’re on the lookout for passionate individuals for both Junior Instructor and Volunteer positions.🔭

🌱Junior Instructors: Must be a Grade 12 student entering their first year of Engineering at the University of Alberta. Junior instructors are tasked with assisting the camp instructors each week and helping to present and deliver camp projects. Junior Instructors are eligible for a $1500 scholarship upon completion of the program.

🌱Volunteers: Must be 15 years of age or older. Volunteers gain valuable experience working with youth by assisting DiscoverE instructional staff during camps and activities.

National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

On December 6, we pause to remember the 14 women whose lives were taken at Polytechnique Montréal in 1989. This tragic act of gender-based violence continues to shape how we remember and reflect on the ongoing need to end gender-based violence to create a world where everyone can learn, work, and live safely.

Today, we join communities across Canada in recognizing the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, carrying forward a commitment to awareness, respect, and change.

fem+ Engineering Mentorship Program - Welcome Breakfast!

As our program kickoff event, Mentors and Mentees were invited to the University of Alberta to meet each other and learn about engineering, all while enjoying some delicious breakfast!

Our guest speaker, Dr. Beth Lee, shared her journey into materials engineering and gave wise words of wisdom to Mentors and Mentees on the many paths into engineering.
