Good morning, here's a few pictures of a recent repair of a discontinued gas tank. An attempt was made to repair it with some type of a epoxy that did not bond to the plastic. The area was cleaned tacked and welded.

Did you know that some fuel tanks are made out of plastic !!

Here's a recent plastic repair..

This was originally brought in for a fitting repair. When removing the fuel tank from the machine some more damage/holes were made.

Below you will see a few images from the repair. This repair was a little more complicated do the facted that there was more then one hole located during the testing process. After three attempts of testing all hole were found and repaired.

Today's plastic repair.

This gas tank is off an older model dirt bike. It came in today for repairs.This was previously repaired with some type of epoxy,unfortunately this repair didn't bond properly. From experience I have learned that most epoxy do not bond to plastic that well and at times causes more damage. In some cases it does bond but only for a period of time.

When ever possible plastic repairs should be repaired with the proper
type of plastic to achieve a proper bond.

Plastic fitting repair.

R.V. fresh water tank repair.
This tank came in to us for a fitting replacement. Spin fitting are very commonly used on R.V. tank's.
When in stalled at the manufacturer they use high speed drill at a fast rpm to install. This causes friction/ heat to bond both products together.
This method is a quick and cheap install
That some times does not bond properly. We at Plastic Surgeon weld all are fittings to insure a proper bond so you don't have to worry about fittings falling off..

bathtub base it's always a good idea to put down a piece of foam to prevent damage.

Flush the RV water system and refill with potable water.

Check for any water leaks.

Check RV Appliances.

Check RV Tires.

Check Fluids in Engine and Generator and Change As Needed.

Inspect The Seams & Seal.
