As a manufacturer of downhole tools, we tend to focus primarily on the machine shop and assembly work that goes into producing brand new high-performance tools. We probably don't give enough credit to our hard-working disassembly team, who play a big role in the life—and ongoing success—of our tools.

Here you can see parts from the field that have been disassembled and washed, ready for inspection. Expedience is the priority here. The team does a great job tearing down tools and cataloging parts as quickly as possible so they can get back to work for our customers.

The precision and shine of freshly machined parts is a beautiful sight to behold, but it's in our service shop where our tools really come to life.

In the service shop, you see the tools assembled into their final form. The pieces come together to reveal a jar, a bearing assembly, a shock tool—the totality of contributions from a team of machinists, engineers, inspectors, coatings experts and more.

As the tools come together, you begin to see their strength and magnitude. You see tangible evidence of the power of these things, what they're capable of, what 140,000 lbs of weight-on-bit might look like.

You also see the strength and determination of the people who use the tools, the hard, manual labour required to torque the connections, and the experience required to know how to piece everything together. The scrapes and grooves of wrenches have yet to be painted over, and you can see what it took to assemble everything. You see teamwork, efficiency, communication, coordination, ingenuity.

In the service shop, man and machine work together—sometimes, at odds—to achieve an incredible outcome. A small preview of what's to come for our tools on the rig. They'll be ready, and we know our customers will be ready for them.

We are service. We are quality.
