You can almost smell the fresh-forged steel—still has that new anvil smell!

Burning in a fresh coat of linsheild wax to protect the surface before it heads out the door from .

This 7.5 lb London Pattern anvil is forged from hardened and tempered 1045 carbon steel and is getting ready for its trip to Hawaii.

Serial Number 15 of 2026.

Thank you for the tremendous order.
These will all be heading off to Saskatchewan in the morning.
What you see there is an axe drift and axe bolster half round Swage blocks, some V bit tongs, offset bladesmith tongs, railway Spike head holding tongs, cross peen hammer, rounding hammer, and finally and a nice shiny flatter.
I make tools for artists, craftsman and connoisseurs are fine shiny objects.
The gold colour you see represented on some of the tools is the final temper color on hardened and tempered steel, which is about a micron thick layer of oxide that forms at specific temperatures.

Keeping my delicate hands from getting any further toasted over hot steel😂
I made episode of soapstone talk to manage all those little short bits of soapstone that end up accumulating at least to my house down by the washing machine.

Hi there, it’s Shawn from Front Step Forge in Edmonton. I don’t know how many of you end up with the pile of soap stone down by the washing machine usually bits too short to use for marking hot steel so I made up these tongs and keep my delicate hands from getting any further toasted.
