Last month, one of our crews completed a deep coring job south of Grande Prairie, reaching 120 metres total hole depth.
The team worked through heavy snow and extreme cold to get the job done safely and professionally.

A big thank you to Kyler O., Zack S., Tristan C., Brett W., and Matt S. for their hard work in tough conditions.
We’re proud of our field crews and the quality work they deliver, no matter the weather.

Only in Alberta can you get sun, snow, and mountain sheep all in one job!
Our Mobile Augers crew was out in the Rockies with our 50 kW sonic rig, drilling to 30 m and installing 2-inch monitoring wells.
Between the weather changes and a few “sheep delays,” the team managed to capture some amazing photos of life on site.
Proud of this crew for getting the job done no matter what Mother Nature throws at them. Shout out to Herb C., Brett W, and Tyler H. for a job well done! ⭐️

On the Job in Edson, AB!

Some photos of our A/R 80 drill hard at work just off the Yellowhead, tackling a 20 m auger drilling project with SPTs and Shelby Tube sampling.

Shoutout to our solid crew on site:
Driller: Aaron N.
Assistant: Michael B.

Tough conditions, tight roadside access — no problem for this team!

🚁 Helicopter job in the Fort McMurray area!

Our crew just wrapped up a remote access project for BGC Engineering, and we've got some amazing photos from inside the helicopter and out in the field.

This kind of heli-supported drilling is a specialty Mobile Augers has decades of experience with — and it shows. The job involved 20–30 metre boreholes with HQ3 core sampling, slope inclinometer and vibrating wire installations, plus shear vane testing.

Big shoutout to our awesome crew:
👷‍♂️ Drillers – Herb C. & Kevin D.
👷‍♂️ Assistants – Josh K. & Brett W.

They handled the tough terrain and technical work like pros. Great job, team!

White-out conditions? Almost looks like it!
This photo from Suncor’s Main Plant Coker Dump makes it seem like our truck-mounted auger/core drill might float away in a cloud.

Over a 21-day stretch, Driller Jon S. and Assistants Rhys K. and Justin G. took on depths of 15–25 meters using a mix of auger and HQ3 coring methods, finishing with 1” piezometer installations.

Big kudos to this hardworking crew for handling the tough conditions and getting it done safely and professionally!

Supporting Geotechnical Excellence with BGC Engineering!

Mobile Augers is proud to be working with BGC Engineering on a multi-site drilling program across the Edmonton region. Over the next 4-6 months, our team will be drilling at multiple locations using a range of equipment, including our M-10 track drill, AR 80, FS 250 core rig, and tracked 50KW Sonic drill, with depths ranging from 12 m to 120 m.

Kicking off the program, Drillers Daniel I. and Aaron N., along with Assistant Rhys K. have been hard at work on-site, delivering high-quality geotechnical data.

🚛🔩 Drilling in Northern Alberta! 🦉🌲

Our crew has been hard at work drilling 65 probe locations in northern Alberta! 💪🌿

🔹 Driller: Sean M.
🔹 Assistant: Michael B.
🔹 Senior Driller Support: Kyler O.

A huge shoutout to Kyler for his expertise in getting the crew up and running and for tackling tough access challenges along the way!

And, of course, we couldn’t resist sharing this stunning Great Gray Owl that stopped by to check on our progress.

❄ We Know Permafrost! ❄

Participating in the 12th International Conference on Permafrost (hashtag ) has us reminiscing about our journey and expertise in some of the world's most challenging permafrost regions. Our commitment to innovation and safety has enabled us to complete numerous groundbreaking projects in the most remote and harsh environments.

🌟Not even an Oilers game can slow us down! 🌟

Our team caught some nice photos from our recent drilling operations on the High Level Bridge in Edmonton.

💪Our mighty M10 truck drill worked alongside the Fraste ML to do some H3 coring and slope inclinometer installations.

🏒 Because the Edmonton Oilers were playing, the city wouldn't close the bridge so a big shout out to our crew for getting the work done safely with traffic whizzing by.

A special shoutout to Jon S., Aaron N., Brett W., and Zach S. for their hard work and dedication throughout this project. Your expertise and commitment are the driving force behind our success!

Last week, we had the privilege of showcasing our expertise in geotechnical drilling to eager students from the S.A.I.T. Civil Engineering Technology program.

We welcomed four classes of enthusiastic students to see a drilling demonstration and to give them insights into the world of geotechnical drilling. We drilled 4 boreholes to approximately 8m deep using solid stem auger drilling techniques. The students had the chance to observe Standard Pe*******on Tests (SPTs) and the use of shelby tubes in action.

📣 Big shout out to our drilling team Malcolm B. and Robin P. for providing the demonstration and the various soil samples.
A big thank you to the instructors and students from S.A.I.T. for joining us. We hope this demonstration inspires and prepares you for your future careers. 🎓
