Well folks be sure to check your sump pumps, and make sure they’re in good working order. You can do a simple test by lifting the float up to ensure the pump turns on, and the water level in the sump drops. Supposed to get a lot of rain over the weekend, and the last thing anyone needs is a flooded basement. This list might be a bit overkill, but it never hurts to make sure your equipment is running.

This week's Pro tip Tuesday highlights the importance of proper waste disposal, as wipes, q-tips, and cigarette butts are not flushable, and only toilet paper and human waste should go down the toilet. This line was completely plugged going into this lagoon with everything that shouldn’t go down the sewer

Home Maintenance Friday tip. This one is relevant to our current water heater promotion. Did you know that residential water heaters last on average 10-15 years in our area. Things that you can do to prolong the life would be flush the water heater out annually, and changing the anode rod, as well as changing your relief valve if it shows signs of corrosion or leaking. If your tank is showing signs of leakage near the bottom of the tank, it would be wise to change it before it becomes an emergency or worse, floods your basement or living area.
