We’re in the field this week at the new subdivision on Tashmoo Ave in Sarnia.

These images show our team installing a stormwater subdrain that’s wrapped in stone. Then, we built a swale (marshy, aerated land) over the subdrain, which helps support efficient stormwater drainage.

You’ll also see one of our bulldozers stripping and piling topsoil to prepare the ground for this new subdivision’s next phases.

Rise & Shine ☀️❄️

Here’s one of our dozers warming up early in the morning to prepare for a day of backfilling.

This is the final work phase on the David Carroll drain in The Municipality of Dutton Dunwich. We’re backfilling and cleaning up the site so all teams can take a well-deserved break for the holidays.

Van Bree Infrastructure is at Willow and Water Coldstream in Ilderton this week. We’ve started demolition on an old barn to open the site up for a new one.

Our operators are peeling the barn back piece by piece, sorting material, and building out a solid pad so the new barn can go up ASAP.

Once demolition is wrapped up, we’ll be back on site to assist with excavation for the new build.

You may have seen these massive concrete structures at a heavy construction site. Ever wonder what they’re for?

From Coldstream Concrete, these pipes are strong, dependable, and long-lasting. We bury them deep in the ground beneath roads and other infrastructure to manage water flow, and prevent flooding and erosion.

These concrete pipes act as water underpasses, providing excellent drainage and stormwater management.

We’re in the field this week in City of Sarnia working on the Minto and Germain Streets reconstruction project.👷🏽

Here, our team is installing concrete storm sewer, and a catch basin at the same time as the mainline.

The underground phase of the reconstruction is a major infrastructure upgrade, to provide reliable flood control, and update & expand the underground utilities.

We’re happy to work through all kinds of weather to make sure our communities have quality, reliable infrastructure and safe roads - but this week, we are grateful for a rare November mild spell 🙌 keeping our crews comfortable and efficient on the job.

At the new Duluth Cres. Subdivision for City of London, Ontario - Municipal Government, a VB crew took a moment to play in the dirt while we completed the earthworks on this site.

We’re in the field this week in the municipality of Dutton Dunwich, installing concrete tile for drainage.

Due to the depth of the new drain, we used an excavator to cut a trench and redistribute the earth, making way for our wheel machine.

When it comes to heavy construction, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving are as important as technical training & experience.

That’s why we work hard to make our people feel valued, connected, and supported on and off the job site.

This Remembrance Day, we remember all of the veterans who served in the Canadian military and beyond to protect our rights, freedoms, and peace.

Featured here are three veterans near & dear to the hearts of our team at Van Bree.

David Kennedy - Naval Signalman in the Canadian Maritime Command during the Cold War Era. This living hero is now an integral part of our team at Van Bree, contributing to the sustainable growth and development of Southwestern Ontario. Thank you David for your honourable service, in the past & present.

Thrasevoulos Stephanides - the uncle of our very own Steve Stefanidis. One of the Canadian soldiers who landed on the beach in Normandy. Steve remembers his uncle telling the story just once, after which he never spoke of the brutal & difficult time again. All of Steve’s uncles and father also served in the Greek army, as it was mandatory in Europe at the time to serve for two years.

John Bundros - Canadian Military - another beloved uncle of Steve Stefanides. A hero who is no longer with us.

Thank you to all of the Canadian and worldwide military personnel living and deceased.

This Remembrance Day, please take a minute of silence and think of these three heroes, as well as all of the people & animals who participated in the fight for peace, freedom, and human rights.

VB crews broke ground this week on the Gladwish Drive Extension for the City of Sarnia

In these images you see our crew using excavators and heavy equipment to install a new sanitary sewer.

Our team will be rebuilding a section of existing road, and building a new road that will connect two existing streets. The new road will open up an area for industrial development in Sarnia🛣
