Honoured to be interviewed by Agence France-Presse (AFP) in Fort McMurray recently.

Standing in the shop at GOAT Mechanical Services, surrounded by heavy equipment we're repairing for the oil sands, I shared my perspective on the current state of the industry and global energy politics.

Amid global instability (Iran, Venezuela, and other disruptions), Fort McMurray and Canadian oil sands remain a strong, stable, and reliable supplier for the United States.

Energy security and economic reality often speak louder than politics. Canada is a trusted partner the U.S. simply cannot do without.

"If you look at it globally right now, in terms of Iran and Venezuela, Fort McMurray has been more of a strong, stable point for the US... I cannot see [Trump] shutting down the oil sands when he absolutely needs us."
